Travels in Japan: Operation Cherry Blossom

In January 2002, as a result of a prize called Operation Cherry Blossom at the 2001 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the US Army flew two students (Debra Hsiung and myself) to Japan. These two weeks far surpassed my hopes and were, in a word, incredible.

Exquisite! The photos are nicely integrated and your writing is, as always, superb. In reading your journal, I found myself reliving the events that have, since January, only existed somewhere in the back of my mind. Thank you for a memorable two weeks and your invaluable gift of friendship!

Excellent photography, and a great memento of what must have been a life-changing experience. It makes me wish I had tried harder at ISEF! Keep up the good work, Dominik =Þ

As a wayfaring surfer and also a former KAMSC student, I am amazed at not only your formidable academic accomplishments, but also at the eloquence in your writing. Your trip to Japan came alive through the screen. Like Andrew Chi, I am also inspired to work harder!!

Great!! This is a wonderful logbook. Admiring your marvelous memories, I really think that you are not only a young scientist but also a great philosopher. I am very glad that you learnt further more than I expected from those two weeks, from Japan. I am very proud of this project having done with you, Debra and Rene.
