This web site was built using a combination of custom-written PHP3 scripts and mySQL. The entire site runs using a mySQL server as a database backend and each page is automatically generated by PHP3 scripts.

I, Dominik Rabiej, am the author/webmaster of this site and some of the modules that I wrote for this "Framework" are (Note: When I refer to a "database" I am referring to not only the table, but all the supporting PHP3):

• Database Communication - Opening & Closing the Database connection, basic site-wide information
• Image Database - A script library & database table for keeping track of, organizing and displaying images.
• Page Database - A script library & database tables for keeping track of, organizing and displaying pages. This library also automatically generates the navigation and look & feel of each page.
• Category Database - A script library & database tables for keeping track of the various categories pages can fall into.
• User Database - For keeping track of users, as well as the necessary scripts to administer them.
• Comments Database - For keeping track of page comments & feedback results.
• Tracking Database - For figuring out where users are going on the site, watching them and providing suggestions and information on the most popular pages/clickthroughs.
• Links Database - For keeping track of links to outside sites.
• Physics Site Database - A custom database written for this site; keeps track of physics-site specific information (reviews, rankings, physics categories).

This server doesn't run Oracle, AOL or PostGRES and so can't run ACS or OpenACS. I undertook building Framework to create a PHP3/mySQL platform for easy construction of database-backed sites.
